Supramolecular interactions : from primary interactions to hierachical architectures
The study and the understanding of the supramolecular interactions of inorganic molecular objects (Polyoxometalates, Clusters ...) is an important part of our activity. The specificity and strength of supramolecular interactions can be advantageously exploited for designing modular devices relevant for different applications (photocatalysis or molecular electronics).
From the design to the biological applications
The study of the biological activity of the POMs has considerably intensified in recent years.
- We develop antitumor agents based on POMs and bisphosphonates which are optimized through in vitro experiements.
- We also study the biological activity of molybdenum complexes for the growth of biomass and their antioxidant properties.

Association of photochromic molecules and POMs
We are interested in the covalent grafting of organic photochromic molecules on polyoxometalates. For instance, we developed a high fatigue resistant, photoswitchable fluorescent spiropyran–polyoxometalate–BODIPY single-molecule. We have also shown that the luminescence of cationic iridium complexes can be controlled by their association with polyoxometalates. Such new materials can exhibit remarkable vapoluminescence properties for the detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) even in the presence of moisture via a new polymorphous conversion mechanism
